"Federal, provincial and local elections will all be held together on March 5, 2026."

Recent announcements by the Election Commission of Nepal and detailed reports in national media state that only the House of Representatives election will be held on March 5, 2026. Provincial and local elections are now scheduled for 2027 under a phased calendar. In 2017 and 2022, some levels of government did vote in close succession, which may contribute to confusion. But the current official plan clearly separates the federal election from provincial and local polls. Claims that all three levels will vote on the same day are therefore incorrect.
